Series History: West Virginia and Texas Tech he faced off 28 times, with the Mountaineers holding an 18-10 series lead. The two teams first met in the 2005 NCAA Sweet 16, where WVU secured a 65-60 victory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since West Virginia joined the Big 12 in 2012, they he gone 14-9 against Texas Tech in regular season conference play. The teams he also met four times in the Big 12 Championship, with WVU holding a 3-1 advantage. West Virginia has won six of eleven games in Lubbock, including their first four trips from 2013 to 2016 and their most recent visit on January 25, 2023, when they defeated the Red Raiders 76-61. The last meeting between the two teams was on March 2, 2024, when Texas Tech claimed an 81-70 victory in Morgantown
