Sadly Gareth income has nothing to do with golf handicap , it’s old Father Time who gets you and no matter how much money you’ve got , you can’t pay him to stay away.

Hi Phillip. I'm enjoying your discussion with Gareth about golf handicaps.
While Father Time (ageing) hinders one's golf handicap in some ways, it can help in others.
I am reliably informed that your namesake, former RBA governor Philip Lowe has taken his golf handicap down from the mid-teens to single figures since he left the bank.
I understand he plays a few times a week and, as the AFR reported, he also works out quite a bit in the gym.
A well placed source tells me Phil Lowe is hitting the golf ball much further than before.
So, in this case, time is on Phil's side — he now has time to get fitter and practice.
On the other hand, a busy job and two small kids mean I'm lucky to get out for one round a month.
Unsurprisingly, my GA handicap is still stuck around the mid-teens, roughly where Phil Lowe's was before he retired.
That said, I occasionally hit a decent shot, like this 7 iron that was about five inches from slam dunking the 7th hole at Royal Marrickville on Sunday (for the non-golfers, that dent in the grass is where the ball landed).

The first question my colleague Did Taylor asked was, "Did you sink the putt?"
Phillip, as a fellow golfer, I reckon you can guess the answer to that!
At least I didn't three-putt.
