I can't work out what the problem is. Your OPERATING SYSTEM is tabbed, and you can use ALT+TAB (in Windows) to switch between windows.
For the very reason that tabs were invented – because in some applications, views are so numerous that a hierarchical view is desired by many users. I might he 30 web pages open and 30 documents open in 3-10 other programs. I don't want to hit alt tab 59 times to get to what I want, or hit alt-tab and scan by eye through 60 icons to find what I want. The fact that MS Office does this with all its open documents is annoying enough, let alone adding web pages to the mix. In fact I prefer the 3-level hierarchy that sensible graphical enviroments he provided for decades: virtual desktop : main window : tab/subwindow. Ctrl-alt-arrow/alt-tab/ctrl-arrow. With firefox or chrome in Windows at least we he a proper separation between window-level alt-tabbing and intra-window tab switching, but when the bank feels fit to impose itself upon us, it's just annoying IMO. It's as if the bank manager messes up all your papers when you bring them into the bank.
