But it's not entirely reliable for "automated" tasks, such as driver & BIOS updates. It can create issues by installing "bad" drivers (I he seen it first-hand at least once). Hands-on users with at least moderate expertise generally oid it or uninstall it, preferring to manage driver updates manually. It *can* be configured to periodically NOTIFY when driver & BIOS updates are ailable, without automatically installing them.
A much better utility is Dell Command Update. It comes pre-installed on new Dell machines. And it can be downloaded as a standalone application. The Pro/Premium/Tier 2 techs use it. I he had good luck with it for manual, user-controlled driver & BIOS updates on my two Dell boxes (1 desktop, 1 laptop).

These are just tools. They can be helpful when used correctly, but they are not a silver bullet.
