Hi everyone.
Both my bigpond.com email addresses stopped sending and receiving in Outlook shortly after 7.45 p.m. last Saturday, 5 August. As the ticket raised the next day hasn't yet progressed in Telstra, I thought I'd see if anyone has any bright ideas, please.
Some notes:- Both bigpond.com email accounts are accessible via web browser.- Other non-bigpond.com email accounts continue to work correctly (IMAP) in Outlook. - Neither Telstra nbn cable nor 4G/5G mobile connections make any difference. - The error message after trying to configure the account in Outlook is "We couldn't connect to the incoming (IMAP) server using the specified encryption method. Please check the incoming (IMAP) server encryption method and try again."- Both accounts he been stable and reliable for many years. No configuration changes he been made, and not even the passwords had been changed in the past two months. - To successfully prove it wasn't an Outlook issue, I downloaded Thunderbird and tried to connect an IMAP account. It fails in exactly the the same way, i.e. the error message is slightly different but I can't establish an IMAP connection in this independent email client. - I also opened an older computer and its Outlook (unused for 12 months). It connected to non-bigpond.com email fine but not to the bigpond.com address configured on it.
So this seems to be systemic to me, i.e. nothing wrong at my end. Or am I missing something, please?
