This 1968 Ford Mustang GT fastback was originally specified in Wimbledon White with a red interior, GT equipment, power steering and front disc brakes, and a 428ci Cobra Jet V8 linked to a C-6 automatic and a 3.50 Traction-Lok differential. The car was drag raced in the 1970s and ’80s, and following the seller’s acquisition in 2023, it was disassembled, refinished, and rebuilt. Now painted Ford Royal Maroon, the car has been modified with body-color wheels and has subframe connectors, rear helper coil springs, and Wilwood disc brakes all around. The 428 was rebuilt with forged pistons, a COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters, Harland Sharp roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley 750cfm carburetor, and a Shelby-style oil pan. The engine is linked to a Doug Nash/Richmond “4+1” five-speed manual transmission and a reinforced rear end, and the interior was also redone with extra gauges, a Hurst shifter, and replacement seat covers. This Mustang GT Cobra Jet is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report and a clean Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.
