Where are Silksong Simple Keys? If you've been poking around in Pharloom's nooks and crannies, odds are you've encountered mysterious locked doors chained with a simple padlock. It stands to reason that a simple padlock requires a key to match.
Just like in Hollow Knight, Simple Keys let you unlock new areas on the Silksong map. While they're not essential to progress in Hollow Knight Silksong, there are multiple benefits to opening these early shortcuts. Whether you're on the hunt for the best Silksong Crest or you just can't abide a locked door in a Metroidvania game, here's where to find and use Silksong Simple Keys.
All Silksong Simple Key locationsThere are four Simple Keys in Silksong, and you need to track down them all if you want to unlock the four shortcuts on the map.
You can find Simple Keys in the following locations:
Bone Bottom Sinner's Road Sands of Karak Songcle Bone Bottom
You can purchase a Simple Key from Pebb in Bone Bottom for 500 Rosaries.
This is easiest and quickest way to get a Simple Key in your playthrough. We won't lie, this is an extortionate amount in the early game, so you might need to rely on our tried-and-tested Silksong Rosary farm locations to se up enough to make the purchase.
Defeat the Roachkeeper at the top of the tower in Sinner's Road to retrieve a Simple Key.
You can get here by progressing through Sinner's Road via Greymoor, or taking our Silksong Bilewater route from Songcle.
Loot the corpse sitting on the eastern bench in Sands of Karak to retrieve a Simple Key.
This is one of the easiest Simple Keys to get in Silksong, but it does pop up quite far into your playthrough. Head north from Blasted Steps to enter Sands of Karak and reach it quickly.
You can purchase a Simple Key from Jubilana in Songcle for 650 Rosaries.
You need to complete The Wandering Merchant quest before Jubilana appears in Songcle. You can find her in the southern area of Choral Chambers, in a side room southeast of the Citadel Spa on the area map. Take the second left up from the Bellway, then it's a straight shot across to her location.
Once you speak to Jubilana, head to Songcle to purchase the Simple Key. It costs a pretty penny (or rather, rosary) so pop those spare strings and necklaces if you he them.
Where to use Simple KeysHere are the Simple Key door locations:
Bone Bottom Deep Docks Sinner's Road High Halls
Use a Simple Key on the locked door in Bone Bottom to open a shortcut through the Wormways that leads down to the Chapel of the Wanderer. This is the quickest way to get the Wanderer Crest, but it requires the Silksong Dash ability to reach it.
To reach the locked door, go to the elevator in Mosshome that leads to Bone Bottom, then head up and to the left. Jump and dash across the cages suspended across the gap, oiding the flies as you go. Continue left and sprint past the mole. You can use the Simple Key on the locked door on the far left of the next screen.
Use a Simple Key on the locked door in Deep Docks to open a shortcut to Far Fields and pick up Flintslate. This tool lets you imbue the Needle with fire and deal additional damage.
To reach the locked door, head to the Deep Docks bench next to the Forge Daughter, but take the switch platforms down to the lower levels. Head right and use Hornet's Dash skill to sprint and leap across the la and reach the platform on the other side.
Use a Simple Key on the locked door that imprisons the Green Prince in Sinner's Road to begin his questline. His location isn't far from the Simple Key in this area.
Use a Simple Key on the locked door in High Halls to access a rosary vault. This vast room is cloaked in darkness and includes multiple buzz saws to oid and enemies to defeat.
Three rosary chests are in the upper-left room, including one with a Pale Rosary Necklace inside it. Don't forget the rosary strings hanging from the ceiling - they're easy to miss in the dark. Finally, head down to the left and break open the false wall, wall jump past the steam vent, and hit the contraption in the room above to release the Rosary Cannon.
The Silksong Simple Keys can help you cut down on how long Silksong takes to beat, but there's plenty more where that came from.
