Married At First Sight's Rhi Disljenkovic has spoken out about her co-star Jacqui Burfoot’s controversial ‘edit’ and revealed what she was really like during filming. Jacqui has emerged as one of the most divisive participants this season, with her emotional breakdown and instant recovery at Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias’ wedding being hailed as both “iconic” and “chaotic” on social media.
She’s also been using a second Instagram account to call out the show and her on-screen portrayal, arguing that her “character makes no sense”. Rhi, who clashed with the Kiwi bride this week after she tried to meet up with her partner Jeff Gobbels behind her back, has now come out and said that Jacqui’s ‘edit’ is “bang on correct”.
“It's funny, you do see people talking about ‘bad edits’, and so far I think what has been shown on TV is exactly what people are like,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRhi adds that she could never take Jacqui seriously during filming because of how often she cried and describes her as “the boy who cried wolf”.
“There was a lot of Jacqui crying and that's why it started to lose its effect,” she shares. “I think that when someone can just turn it off and on like that, it does make you question how genuine they are.
“Like for me to cry, I know everybody's different, but I can't just wipe my tears and go, ‘Okay I’m fine’ and just walk on. It takes me a little bit to get over it because I am genuinely sad.”
Rhi went on to say that while Jacqui’s antics might be entertaining to watch as a viewer, they were “exhausting” to deal with in real life. She also admits that even after filming the series with Jacqui and watching the show on TV, she still has no idea if she was acting or being genuine.

“I tried multiple times throughout filming to see where she was coming from, that’s why I said I find Jacqui really hard to relate to. She can be a really nice person and we've had some good chats and there are times where I’m like, ‘Oh we’re getting on!’. But then the constant flip-flops and contradictions make it really hard.
“So maybe for the cameras she may he been a bit more performative or maybe exaggerated how she felt? I’m honestly not sure. I kind of feel bad saying that, but it's a tough one to understand.”
Jacqui admits to ‘playing up’This comes shortly after Jacqui posted on her Instagram Story about her motivation for going on the show and admitted to “playing up” for the cameras during filming.

She also added in an Instagram Story on Monday that she struggled to take the commitment ceremonies seriously after being matched with Ryan.
“I spend half the time desperately holding back my laughter and yeah I confess am often trolling the experts because it's all so boring,” she shared.
