Blox Fruits are mysterious fruits that can grant their user supernatural abilities when eaten. They are the main, core mechanism of the game, as well as being represented as the game title, hence Blox Fruits.
Each Blox Fruit has its own unique power. However, in exchange for power, the user will continuously take damage if they stay in water for too long. Some Blox Fruits he special abilities that can grant the user certain immunities, buffed movement, defensive perks, etc.

Obtainment
There are the many ways to obtain Blox Fruits, with the main ones being:
Buying a fruit's powers from the Blox Fruit Dealer.
Buying a physical fruit from the Blox Fruit Gacha.
Buying a Permanent Blox Fruit from the Blox Fruit Dealer or from the in-game shop.
Picking up fruits that spawn hourly, or 45 minutes in the weekends.
There are also some other ways of obtaining Blox Fruits, including:
Doing the most damage in a Factory raid.
Defending the Castle on the Sea from pirates and dealing the final blow on the last enemy.
Defeating a Grand Brigade during a Ship Raid or Haunted Ship Raid at a low chance.
Trading for fruits in either the Café or Mansion.
Being gifted a Permanent Blox Fruit by a friend or random player.
Purchasing a Physical Rocket Fruit from Dog House (Wenlock) at a cost of

97.
Finding or taking a Blox Fruit that someone else dropped.
Participate in in-game events.
Note that these events are limited (e.g. receive physical fruit from the Death King during Halloween Events).
Defeating the Tyrant of the Skies, offering Azure Embers, and collecting a Dragon Egg he low chances of obtaining a physical Eagle Fruit, Kitsune Fruit, and Dragon Fruit, respectively.

Dropped fruits will not despawn, unlike those that spawned under trees.
Stored fruits cannot be dropped.
Fruits purchased with Robux

are permanent and can be equipped from either the Blox Fruits Dealer or the Shop at any time, whereas Blox Fruits bought with Money

are not permanent.
Players can remove their fruit by going to the Remove Blox Fruit NPC, although this is not recommended.
Permanent fruits can be traded like gamepasses. To do so, players must select the "Store in Inventory" option under the "Gift" tab.
The mastery of a fruit will remain the same even if the fruit was replaced. The same goes for its awakened moves.
Players cannot trade permanent fruits or gamepasses that he already been used, just like with fruits that are being used.
Sand users take double the damage when submerged in water.
Being a member of Shark reduces damage taken in the water.
Being V2 or higher nullifies the damage.
Fruits in the Second Sea or Third Sea can be exchanged for certain items, events, or quests.
Buying a fruit with Money

from the Blox Fruit Dealer NPC will replace the currently equipped fruit.
If a player takes out a stored fruit and someone kills them, they will lose the fruit, but the enemy will not get the fruit.
Some fruits such as Ice and Magma v2 allows the users to walk on water, this does not mean that they ignore damage received by the sea, such as being pushed underwater.
Awakened Buddha's Transformation is enough to not be fully submerged under water when standing, nullifying damage from the sea, unless also pushed underwater.
The player is able to access a fruit's unawakened moves even after awakening them by interacting with the Awakenings Expert.
