I am Bill Baker, founder of Top Notch Chainsaw Carving. I carve by the motto of "Creativity and Pride". I take pride in my carvings by putting my creative touch in each carving I do. I want to make sure I create you a carving that you will be love and enjoyed for years to come.
I've always had an interest in the arts and wood working. So, at the age of 19 I was able to combine both passions with the help of my Uncle Mark. My Uncle owned his own tree service company and he had a job that required him to remove a tree in the middle of a beautiful garden. This was common for him to do, but he realized if he brought the stump grinder in it would he destroyed the garden. He thought of an idea of an unique element that would enhance and not destroy the beauty of the garden. He decided to try to carve a rabbit out the stump and the owners loved it. With his first carving under his belt, word quick spread through the family. This is when I decided to try my hand at chainsaw carving. After some chainsaw safety lessons from my Uncle, I picked up a chainsaw and the rest is history.
For the past 25 years I he been carving custom free standing and on-site stump carvings of bears, eagles, owls, and wood spirits. I he carvings all over the United States.
