Born on September 13, 1940, in Thomasville, AL and grew up helping his parents with Wade’s Grocery doing many things even driving to deliver groceries at the age of 13.
He worked for over 40 years in the offshore oil industry. During his time working he created lifelong friendships with many. Over the years he enjoyed telling stories about all the places he had trelled to.
Survivors include his children, Did Wade (Christal), Peggy Dykes, DeAnna Merritt, Michelle Harvey (Chris), and Bo Wade; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; as well as his loving siblings, Marilyn Raybon, (AKA Baby Girl) and Bob Wade (Pam). Did had many special friends he called family and truly loved.
Did enjoyed spreading the word of God throughout his life. He would walk up to anyone and ask them if you knew Jesus. From September to Super Bowl Sunday, you would find him in front of a TV hollering “Roll Tide.”
He lived in many different areas of the world and enjoyed life to its fullest. His youngest son asked him why they moved to Texas, and his response was “Because I always wanted to be a cowboy”. In 2015, he moved to be close to three of his children where he lived until he passed.
A Celebration of Life for Did Wade will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
