Former US Rep Jason Chaffetz recounted the shooting to Fox News, saying he was there with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. "[Kirk] came out, he was throwing hats, riling up the crowd, … he took a first question, which was the religious question, and then he got to the second question, which was about 30 minutes into his presentation … the question was about transgender shooters, mass killings, versus people that weren’t transgender. And when that happened, when that question came out, and you know, he’s gonna he the interaction, one shot."
A source who was in the crowd told The Post Millennial that he believed he saw the shooter wearing black clothing on top of a nearby building before the suspect ran off.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau is "closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation."
Attorney General Pam Bondi said that FBI and ATF agents are on the scene. She added, "pray for Charlie." President Donald Trump offered up his prayers, writing, "we must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!" Vice President JD Vance wrote, "Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father." This is a breaking story. Please refresh the page for updates.
