A 2012 Honda was caught on dashcam flying across New York’s Sunrise Highway.
The driver suffered a seizure and drove up an embankment, launching the car.
Despite soaring over six lanes of traffic, the driver only suffered minor injuries.
The afternoon commute in Bay Shore, New York took an unexpected turn on Wednesday when a car flew across all six lanes of the Sunrise Highway. The amazing scene was caught on dashcam and it looks like something from The Dukes of Hazzard.
As you can see, the dashcam-equipped vehicle is treling down the highway when a car suddenly launches itself into the air. This seemingly occurs out of nowhere and the sedan clears the divider, leing a trail of dust and dirt in its path.

The car then appears to land nose first, before exiting out of view. This certainly spooked the driver of the dashcam-equipped vehicle as we can see him shimmy through the debris field, while saying a few expletives.
According to News 12, the accident occurred around 5 pm when a 70-year-old driving a Honda sped up an embankment while treling on Pine Acres Boulevard. This launched the car across the highway and it eventually landed up against a tree.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
As a fire department spokesperson explained to the publication, “He had a medical episode causing him to lose control and go flying up the embankment on the service road, over both the westbound then eastbound lanes, and landed in the embankment down the eastbound side.”
