Hello Givemore Mudzingwa,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
Here's how you can troubleshoot and try to fix the sound issue on your laptop:
### 1. Check Volume Settings
Make sure the volume is not muted. Click the speaker icon in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar and drag the volume slider up.### 2. Select the Correct Output Device
Right-click the speaker icon and choose “Open Sound Settings.” Under “Output”, make sure the correct speaker or headphone device is selected.### 3. Run the Windows Troubleshooter
Go to Settings > System > Sound. Scroll down and click “Troubleshoot” under the output section. Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and fix sound issues.### 4. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
Press Win + X and select Device Manager. Expand “Sound, video and game controllers.” Right-click your audio device and choose “Update driver.” If that doesn’t help, try “Uninstall device”, then restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.### 5. Restart Windows Audio Services
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Find Windows Audio, right-click it, and choose “Restart.” Make sure its Startup Type is set to Automatic.### 6. Check External Devices
If you're using headphones or external speakers, make sure they’re properly connected. Try unplugging and replugging them, or test with another device.Best regards,
