During an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum recorded earlier Thursday at British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's country house Chequers, Trump said it’s “ideally” the role of a president to bring people together.
“Ideally,” Trump said. “I get this question so much.”
Trump said there was “tremendous” amounts of hatred across the country, which he thought started during former President Barack Obama’s term.

It has probably always been there and we don't realize it but I saw it starting with President Obama. I saw tremendous hatred but I saw levels that we've never seen before and with Biden, it got far worse,” he said.
Trump said that after the COVID pandemic further isolated people, his policies that brought “economic success” he brought people together.
“I would say that success brought people together. And I think the only thing that will bring them is economic success," Trump said.
