Windows 11 Delta was a mod made by Aurorarion based on Windows 11 Pro 21H2. This was the first (and last) Windows 11 mod to be made by Aurorarion.
Description[edit | edit source]This mod aims to restore the old experience of Windows 11 before 22000.51, and maybe adding Windows 10 features back, and adding new stuff from future Windows 11 builds. It also fixes inconsistencies with using a transformation pack named Rectify11.
History[edit | edit source]Like other mods in the Windows Delta series are circulating like Windows XP Delta Edition, Windows Vista Delta, and so on, it aims for the same purpose: fixing inconsistencies and adding scrapped beta stuff.
Before Aurorarion's takeover[edit | edit source]On 11 June 2023, XPower7125 started development with Windows 11 Delta, based on 22H2. He made a cover art and showed that he installed it. On 15 June 2023, he mentioned old elements that it will add back like Get Started and others.
On 11 July 2023, XPower7125 paused the development of this mod, which didn't he any new updates.
On 23 February 2024, Aurorarion decided to take over his mod, and XPower7125 didn't respond to her until she pinged him a day later. Then he accepted her to take over his mod as he was busy with other stuff such as Win11to7.
After Aurorarion's takeover[edit | edit source]On 6 March 2024, Aurorarion started downloading Windows 11 21H2 and mentioned inside of the Windows 11 ISO image. It did he a total of 11 images, but she decided to base it on Pro. She also downloaded a Windows 11 build which contained Windows 10X OOBE (Out of Box Experience) JSON lotties (animations in OOBE). She mentioned the plans for Windows 11 Delta boot.wim such as visual style, Windows Setup graphics, and bypassing requirements.
On 7 March 2024, Aurorarion revealed the cover art of Windows 11 Delta and the creator describes it as "simple".
On 8 March 2024, Aurorarion told Ice Cube (not the rapper or BFDI character; just the user) to make a setup graphic. Aurorarion sent Windows 11 rejected wallpapers which are in the Ultimate Windows Wallpaper Pack by fusoxide. After that day, Aurorarion made this into a functional setup using the concept and Rectify11 v2 resources. Then she made a preview of how the setup works. Windows 10X SVG cursors are used by default along with the Windows 11 2022 Update (also known as version 22H2) boot screen.
On 14 November 2024, Aurorarion canceled the development of Windows 11 Delta for various reasons and released the Extras Pack in a very incomplete state.

Statement from the creator[edit | edit source]Aurorarion said she's not gonna make a version based on 2022 Update, 2023 Update or the upcoming 2024 Update, due to making it faithful and heard about the concerns with the upcoming 2024 Update. She doesn't want to use 26040/26100 setup due to the system requirements being included in the setup. Due to people saying it's not good as Linux, she prefers Linux and old versions of Windows, she hates Windows 11 even she makes this mod anyways. She stated that ISO being larger is to blame WinSxS being large, describing Windows Vista had to bloat it and it's a mistake.
Due to her concerns with Windows 11 2024 Update, she advises to others that she's not going to publish any Windows 11 2024 Update mod. And Windows 11 (original release) is the planned build that she's gonna work on and doesn't want people to blame her choices.
New features and changes[edit | edit source] Internal changes[edit | edit source] Setup[edit | edit source] Setup files has been reverted to build 21380, removing the arbitrary system requirements. Now setup redirects to the "Install now" page, which it looks similar to the autorun, like unattended installs. Windows 7 upgrade support has been reinstated, but however it is untested. Themes[edit | edit source] uxinit.dll and themeui.dll are patched by default. User interface[edit | edit source] Setup[edit | edit source] Windows PE uses its own cursors matching with the OS instead of cursors seen in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Consistency fixes has been done to the Windows PE image. Setup has a new look to match Windows 11 and Fluent Design guidelines. It fixes a bug with saying "Status" text while Windows is installing and it uses the installing text seen in Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 11 version 22H2 onwards. Hardware detection/WinLogon Deployment screen has been changed to the version seen in Windows 11 2022 Update. OOBE animations has been replaced with Windows 11 Iron animations which it contain Windows 11 OOBE. Themes[edit | edit source] Theme has been replaced with Rectify11 theme, replacing the old Aero theme which it contained inconsistencies from previous versions of Windows and being unpolished. Logon screen[edit | edit source] Lock screen wallpaper has been changed to the zoomed and cropped variant of img19 from this mod. Windows Security Options, logging off, and shutting down screens colors are reinstated. File Explorer[edit | edit source] File Explorer has been reverted to the version seen in Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, with a new Ribbon look. Miscellaneous[edit | edit source] Boot screen has been changed to the one seen in Windows 11 2022 Update. Cursors seen in Windows 8 build 8330 has been replaced with newer ones. System resources are updated to comply with Windows 11 design. Default user account picture has been replaced with the one seen in Windows 11 2022 Update. However, the Windows 10 user account picture still displays in the logon screen. Context menus has been reverted to the one seen in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. Software[edit | edit source] Internet Explorer has been reinstated and no longer redirects to Microsoft Edge (unless if it's updated and will add a BHO file). Bugs and quirks[edit | edit source]
The Personalization page in the Settings app has several issues:
Links are missing from the "Related settings" section in the Background and Colors subpages.
The Themes subpage won't display any theme.
Desktop background image won't display in the preview in the Background, Colors, and Themes subpages.
Microsoft Teams is still installed by default and fails to open because of Microsoft Edge WebView 2 being missing.
Changing the search icon will not allow the user to reenable the search bar.
Photos app isn't set as default app for viewing images.

This mod development was paused due to lack of her storage, then later it's cancelled by the mod creator due to lack of interest and demotivation, releasing a extremely incomplete Extras Pack.
