Founded in 1871 by brothers Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin in East Liverpool, Ohio, the company began as Ohio Valley Pottery, producing quality pottery ware. In 1877, Shakespeare sold his share to Homer, leading to the establishment of The Homer Laughlin China Works.
Under new ownership by the Wells and Aaron families in the early 20th century, the company expanded and thrived, introducing iconic lines like Fiesta庐 in 1936, known for its vibrant colors and Art Deco style.
