Reviewed by Adeel Adil. Former Vice President of Sports Society CUVAS.The Badminton World Federation has mentioned all the rules of badminton games including court size. I reached them and tried to explain them straightforwardly with illustrations that were missing there. I searched for them on their website but nothing was found. After scrolling through the results, I found these rules in the Pdf published by BWF. The unit used there was meters so I converted it into feet, inches, and centimeters. You can find them in the below table. Before making any delay let's know the accurate measurements of the badminton court in different units, especially in feet.
All measurements of the Badminton Court in Feet, Inches, centimeters and Meters
Tip: Don't Read all tables. Just look at the unit that you mostly use. The purpose of including other units is every type of reader can get results as he desires.
Let's know the dimensions of service court in singles and doubles.
Dimensions of Service Courts (singles) in feetThe length of service court for singles is 15.1 feet. The back boundary line also called the long service line is included in it. The width is 8.3 feet while the area is 125.3 square feet. Calculating the area of surface of the court is pretty simple. Just multiply the length and width. Anyway, I he multiplied it multiple times so you don't need it.
Dimensions of Service Courts (Doubles) in feetThe width of the service court for doubles is 9.6 feet as sidelines are included in it. Remember, Sidelines are not for singles and back boundaries and not for doubles. One reason for including sidelines for doubles may be that two players are on either side making for them wider area for easy play. The length of the service court is 12.7 ft. After multiplying 9.6 by 12.7 we get the area in square meters and that is 122 square feet.
Dimensions of short service line area in feetThe distance from the badminton net to the short service line is 6.5 feet and its length is 17 feet as the total width of the court for singles. The area is 111 square feet.
Dimensions of Back Boundary Lines area/Long service Line For Singles in FeetThe area of the long service line is 46 square feet. Its length is 20 feet and its width is 2.3 feet. It is wider than the sideline.
Dimensions of Sidelines area for doubles in feetAs I mentioned sidelines are only for doubles. The length of the sideline is 43.9 feet and the width is 1.4 feet. Its area is 61.5 square feet.it is narrower than the back boundary line.
Area of full court for singles in feetThe area of full court for singles is 746 square feet.
Area of Full Court For Doubles in FeetThe area of full court for doubles is 786 square feet.
Badminton Full Court Area in FeetThe length of the badminton court in feet is 43.9 and the width is 20ft. Making its area 878 feet.
Badminton court dimensions in InchesThe length of the badminton court in inches is 528 inches and the width is 240 inches. Making its area square inches.
Dimensions of a Badminton Court in CentimetersThe length of the badminton court in centimeters is centimeters and the width is 609 centimeters. Making its area square centimeters.
Dimensions of a Badminton Court in MetersThe length of the badminton court in meters is 13.4 and the width is 5.94 Making its area 79.6 square inches.
So far we he covered a lot of details about badminton courts. I also mentioned measurements of the badminton net in the table but did not write a word about it as I he written a detailed article about the width of the net and height of the badminton net. I missed mentioning important information about badminton court lines. Can you guess? Share the answer in the comment box. Don't forget to share my content as I wrote it after eight hours of struggle.
