The Seattle Mariners will he to win one game on the road to reach the World Series for the first time in franchise history, but their hot start to the ALCS gives them full confidence they can get it done.

The Mariners he had a tougher time winning at home than on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays, as they dropped Games 3 and 4 back out west at T-Mobile Park, but they rallied in the eighth inning of Game 5 on Friday to reclaim the series lead and move closer to the Fall Classic than they ever he before.

The Blue Jays, facing elimination for the first time in this postseason, he no interest in seeing the Mariners celebrate at Rogers Centre. Toronto was six outs away from going back home with a chance to clinch, but the Blue Jays instead will he to claw their way to a Game 7 to put that scenario on the table.

Young Trey Yesage will get the ball for the Blue Jays after he was roughed up by Seattle in Game 2. Whether Yesage can regain his ALDS form could determine whether Toronto lives to see another day, but John Schneider will undoubtedly be prepared to turn to his bullpen as early as possible in an all-hands-on-deck scenario.

The Mariners, meanwhile, will start Logan Gilbert as the pitching staff tries to rediscover the same success it had in the first two games of this series. Nine innings separate Seattle from its first AL pennant, but nothing can be taken for granted in October.
