Evansville, IN (East Side)- wow- what a difference between the amazing food and the terrible service! My boyfriend and I had our first restaurant experience in Indiana since last March, so we chose to drive an hour away from our small town. I wanted ribs and learned two of my forite places had closed down. So, boyfriend chose Texas Roadhouse. It was my first time there. Even the hostesses were awful! Two were standing in front of us for a full 4 mins joking about how a party went the night before. Then, we were seated at the bar (fine), and left there for 17 mins with no drinks or waitress. She finally comes, barely speaks loud enough to hear her say “what do you want to drink”. (Wow, nice greeting!” Her mask was under her nose and we could see her top lip 8/. I just said that we had plenty of time and we know what we want to order. She took our order of food and drinks, brought rolls and still... no drinks! After I was about to go get my own drinks, she brought the one and only drinks we would receive. Another server brought our food and walked off. We had to wait again to get a few things we needed. She finally was walking by and we asked for those items and she acted as though we tore her arm off. After she brought those .... never saw her again. My man is always a good tipper, as I he taught him a great way to figure out adding up good tip a amount. Well, she received the lowest! I then walked over to the kitchen and praised them for the AMAZING food!!!! Too bad we could he had the same meal in take out.
So, I would say, make sure you ask for a manager right away if things start out bad. Our bill was expensive, so we likely should he gotten a manager and at least asked for several of the staff to be trained how to wear masks, how to do good customer service, treat customers with respect and quit goofing off.
