The line about "garage kept" means that THAT bike was kept under a tarp behind the garage, is the way I read it. It has Shimano SIS derailleurs, which were the first derailleurs EVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD! It's really RARE, being as they only made 4 bikes in 1994, and this was one of them, so that's why I'm asking for five-hudndred dollars FIRM. Sure, you MIGHT find one of these at a yard sale for $20, or even in the trash, but that wasn't GARAGE KEPT. Or, at least, behind the garage, with a tarp on it..so..IT"S VINTAGE! * "Sweet, VINTAGE Huffy..." * "perfect for riding around as a city beater, or converting to a fixed gear bike, that I hear are so popular nowadays." * "It has Shimano SIS derailleurs, which were the first derailluers EVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD!" * "It's really RARE, being as they only made 4 bikes in 1994, and this is one of them, so that's why I'm asking for five-hundred dollars firm." * "Sure, you might find one of these at a yard sale for $20, or even in the trash, but that wasn't GARAGE KEPT. When the bars would not fit the stem, no problem, a little duct-tape and we're home free. It sounds crazy, but the tape actually worked, the stem was tight. Check out the name on the cruiser seat. Hey, at least its a high end cruiser saddle! I'll betcha I can flip it on CL.;) tradtimbo 03-25-08 06:00 PM Originally Posted by Squeazel (Post 6403506) I need to add a no-brand-name ashtabula-cranked POS to my collection, for sure! http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/618206026.html Really New!! Hey, at least its a high end cruiser saddle! I'll betcha I can flip it on CL.;) OK, I paid $100 with the correct bars, nearly new Shimano SPDs and nearly new Specialized MTB shoes. I lol'ed when I saw that saddle because I just sold a Raleigh cruiser with the same couch. I he to admit it was comfy, but I'll bet it weighs as much as both rims on your SR400... That's all well and good, but why did you buy "a new bike, which [you] plan to use for the rest of this season?" Either you're lying, or you really can't bear being on anything but the latest fashionista triathlon machine, eh? --------------------------- -Kurt hxzero 03-27-08 01:36 AM What I don't get is why all these owners of high-end tri and road bikes never put a size with their listing. That's one of the first things you look for, isn't it? Like, if you were selling shoes on Craigslist, you wouldn't just say, "SHOES - REALLY NICE - $100" without mentioning the size. This gets me every time. AHemp 03-27-08 09:56 AM Originally Posted by Bikedued (Post 6411167) Anyone want to take a guess what name brand he scratched off to ask $20?
