Mohammad Mustafa (محمد مصطفى) was born in 1954. On 14 March 2024, President Mahmoud Abbas appointed Mustafa as prime minister of the Palestinian Authority (PA), succeeding Mohammad Shtayyeh.

Mustafa has been a senior adviser to Abbas on economic affairs since 2005. Between 2013 and 2014, he served as deputy prime minister of the PA and minister for national economy. In February 2022 he was elected to the PLO‘s Executive Committee.

He has been the chairman of the Palestine Investment Fund since 2009, and has launched a number of start-ups and companies. Mustafa is the founding CEO of PalTel. He also founded Wataniya Mobile, and Massader for Natural Resources and Infrastructure, as well as investment funds, such as the Rasmala Palestine Equity Fund and the Sharakat Fund for SMEs.

In 2000, he served as an economic reform adviser to Kuwait. Prior to that, he was the lead adviser on privatisation and public-private partnerships for the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia between 1997 and 1998. He has also worked for the World Bank between 1991-2005.
