The Bronx Youth Center (BYC) is housed in a newly designed and renovated 18,000-square-foot building. The early 2023 move to this new, spacious facility is helping to improve access to the growing community need for BYC programs and services. In addition to continuing to offer employment and education programming, BYC now provides mental health supports, arts programming, legal assistance, culinary services, and more. The Door occupies three floors of the four-story building, which also has ground-floor retail.
The design features exposed brick and plentiful windows, creating a bright, open atmosphere to promote a relaxing environment for staff and Door members. The space includes eight classrooms, several larger meeting rooms, and seating for approximately 65 staff, including 10 private offices.
Directions: The Bronx Youth Center is easily accessible by subway via 2 and 5 trains to 3rd Avenue–149th Street, as well as the Bx15, Bx22, and numerous other bus lines.
